I’ve just had a growth scan because of suspected polyhydramnios (where gestational diabetes was mentioned) and whilst the baby showed no signs of this, she does have a large belly but is otherwise normal.
Apparently a large belly can be a sign of GD but I don’t seem to have any other signs such as the fluid. Should I insist on a test or rely on the fact they didn’t feel I had cause for concern?

She might just be a big baby hun. She's showing no signs and the doctors don't seem worried. If it's worrying you though, there's no harm in mentioning it.
Our son had a big belly and he weighted 8lb 13oz when he was born 2 weeks prem (I was induced) xx
I was tested for GD in my first pregnancy at 32 weeks as I had a routine scan to check my placenta, where they discovered my sons belly was measuring large compared to the rest of him! I wasn’t tested sooner because I wasn’t considered at risk, I also had no symptoms. I was diagnosed and luckily I was able to manage through my diet. When I discovered I was pregnant the second time I cut out white bread and sugar in my drinks straight away and I managed to avoid it the second time. Please go get tested, if U have GD u will need to be tested 3 months after the birth also to make sure the diabetes has gone with the pregnancy. I hope you’re not stressing too much, I was extremely upset over it, but it wasn’t actually that bad. Good luck x
Same thing happened to me and the check which showed I had GD. Think u should request the test. It would not harm a to alter your diet as well cut out sugar
