If you are rhesus negative you should have had anti D with each of your pregnancy ... at least one injection around 28 weeks. Are you sure you didn't have them? I would discuss with your midwive. It's nothing to do with baby's sex but with blood group... is this baby with same partner? Maybe they checked his blood and was negative? Something doesn't quite add up

I'd have a chat with the midwives and ask why ... had a quick look at guidelines at the most recent are from 2014 where women are given anti d routine during pregnancy... I can't access older Ones as removed. However if both you daughters are negative it will

Not have any impact on you.

i had them with both mine 8 years and 2 years ago. its nothing to do with gender, you should have had them if you are rhesus negative and babys dad is positive in case babys blood is positive, its a standard thing

Both girls negative but the baby which I’m havin in October is positive had fetal blood taken . The midwife said if the fetal blood cane back that the baby was neg I wouldn’t need the anti d it’s a new thing they’ve been doing they can take your blood and get your fetal dna from it

They haven't always given anti d routinely. At one point it was just given if you had a bleed, but a few years ago they started to give it routinely during pregnancy as a precaution. You habe nothing to worry about - sounds like your previous 2 were before the guidelines advised routine doses x

No, Rhesus positive is simply a blood group. X

I know it’s a blood group just meant could it be a different blood group to my girls because she / he’s a girl x

Hi, it’s nothing to do with the sex of the baby. If your blood group is negative you are usually offered anti d at 28 weeks or you will be assessed and possibly offered additional anti d injections following any bleed; this is to ensure, should your baby have positive blood group, that your body does not build anti bodies against the babies blood should yours and baby’s blood mix.

Hiya! I have to have anti-d too because I’m res neg. when I had my little girl 2 yrs ago I just had the anti-d as a matter of course, and as it turns out, she is res pos so it was just as well. But this time round they did the same as you and tested the fetal blood (very clever!). Anyhoo this Bean is res pos too so I have to have anti-d again. If they haven’t already explained; you’ll have it at around 27 weeks and again within 24 hrs of baby being born, so it’s no big deal. Weird that you never had it before though, and it can’t have been because they knew your first 2 were res neg as they’ve only just started checking that. Good luck with it all! X

Very strange and very worrying to be honest but to be fair on both girls I never saw the same midwife more then once it was very annoying and it was awful to be honest. This time round same midwife for every appointment ands it’s made such a difference x
