My LO will be ten months next week. I've noticed over the past few days the end of his manhood is quite pink. I was following midwife's advice - not doing anything extra in terms of care - just washing all visible bits. If irritation persists what could be done? He does not seem in any kind of distress at the moment. Thank you in advance for advice x

It could just be normal irritation, their skin is quite sensitive anyway. It could be irritation from wet nappies. If hes not in any pain or discomfort, just keep going as normal, as long as its only slightly pink, if it starts to bleed or gets infected definately go see a dr. If its from wet nappies a small amount of sudocream can do wonders, my son is 13 months and gets irritated and sore really easily from wet nappies doesnt matter what nappies we use. if you are still concerned you can always ring your drs and ask for a call back to discuss and they will tell you if you need to go in or ring your health visitor (if you live in UK)
Thank you very much, greatly appreciate - will keep an eye and try sudocream. He started sleeping through the night just a few days ago so this might be from all-night nappy which he is not used to.
Its very likely caused by that as he wont be used to being a wet nappy that long. Keep an eye on it, if it gets worse or you have any other reason to be concerned about it just give your dr or health visitor a ring.
