Hi,

I have recently had the upsetting news that my daughter has been born with no thyroid my doctor picked this up on day 12 and she began her meds on day 13. I see it’s very rare and I’m beside myself with worry. Is there anybody going through something similar? As I’d love to hear from you. Please only positive stories...

I don't know anybody with this condition as obviously a shock as we all want our baby to be healthy! But think of the positives in that your doctor obviously has picked it up early and baby can get replacement for this.

Take care!

So sorry to hear your news lovely. I don’t have experience with this but the British thyroid Foundation has several closed Facebook groups that might put you in touch with other mums plus you could contact them direct to get some further information and what support is available to you. Here’s a link btf-thyroid.org/27-policies...

Best of Luck x

There might be a group on here too actually! Click on the community tab at the top and then have a search for thyroid. Might be something relevant for you x

It's no big deal. Your daughter will be on thyroid medication, probably for life. Adults normally have a tablet first thing in the morning, not sure about babies.
