birthing partners

Hi, I'm 24 weeks and just starting to think in more detail about the birth. It looks at the moment as if it will be a hospital birth and low risk (I hope!) We are planning for my husband to be present at the birth and I am also hoping my mother might be able to be there as well, but are two birthing partners allowed? Also, are birthing partners allowed to come in and out of the room when they want to, or do they have to stay inside? Thanks for your help :-)

You need to ask the particular unit where you will be giving birth. I had my mum and husband at my first birth, and just husband for my second. They stabbed throughout but I didn't have particularly long labours. I'm sure that be able to leave as needed. But def check with your unit

Hi Hun , your birth partners are allowed to come and go as depending on time and how long your labour is everyone needs a break. Only two birthing partners allowed also ! Xx

For mine it’s was two birthing partners allowed. I had my partner there and he was frequently popping out to get lunch/coffees/top up parking etc. X

Hi, 2 partners are allowed. I also suggest booking a hospital tour. Its very useful for first timers, they show around labour room and such (if they are not occupied of course), and they answer any questions you might have.

Not what you're looking for?
