Unfortunately this is LGBT something easy to answer and the only way to know if you can get pregnant is to try. I know people who were in their 40s who got pregnant and some people in their 20s who couldn't. It's not purely an age thing... but if you want kids the sooner the better in terms of fertility as it does go down with age

My mum had my sister aged 36 and had me at aged 39. A girl at work had her baby at 41 xx

Following on from the ladies points above, your chances of conceiving depend also on your health as well as your age. Drinking, smoking and being overweight for example affect your chances of conceiving. This is applicable to your partner too. Plus any medication either of you may be taking. His age will also play a part. If you are thinking of trying for a baby, at 38 there is no reason why you shouldn’t try but it would be best to discuss fertility and your individual circumstances with a GP or at your local family planning clinic who can give you advice on how to best increase your chances. X

And on your genetics as well as your womb health to add to the previous post.

Hi hun. I gave birth to my little one when I was 42, I conceived naturally. I had my first child at 23. Age is just a number, as long as the child is wanted and loved why should older women not have a child. My older 2 are also his godfathers, they absolutely think the world of him. Everybodys body is different regardless of age. You could always speak to your doctor and get a check over first to make sure your health is okay. Just don't worry too much about getting pregnant quickly, the more you worry about it the longer it could take. Good luck hun, I hope you get what you wish for x

Hey! If you are considering having children it's best if you start now. Conceiving is not the only thing you should be thinking about, there is entire 9 months plus post partum period. Generally, if you are younger it's easier for your body to adjust to changes coming with pregnancy, risks of miscarriage or genetic defects are lower and also recovery after birth is easier. It doesn't mean of course you will experience any of them, as there are plenty of individuals who have kids 35+ and them and their babies are perfectly fine, but I believe those are things you should also consider before thinking of having a child. You have a great chance to conceive without ivf, just start trying, the earlier you start, in case of any problems, the easier it will be to pick anything up and then try to find a solution or start therapy if required but there's no need to jump straight to ivf unless you or your partner have any condition that may stop you being able to conceive naturally. Best to start with gp, talk about your health and if you require any test etc and go from there.

Hi I’m 37 I got pregnant in sept after 3 months trying, but just miscarried last week but will be trying again as soon. I already have two girls 12 & 9. My friend was 38 and had her 3rd baby in feb. They say your fertility lowers after 35 so don’t wait too long if wanting a child.

I'm pregnant for the first time ever at age 43 . No IVF , unplanned pregnancy, but I'm counting my blessings! I started hoola hooping with a weighted hoola hoop trying to get fit for my birthday! I lost 12 lbs next thing I know I was pregnant!
