My friend is 5 days late. She has the implant and has for over a year but she can't feel it. She's taken several tests and two have come back positive, however she's not convinced she's pregnant. Has this happened to anyone who has the implant before? I'm convinced she must be. Any advice or similar stories welcome please.

Pregnant?
I would suggest she goes to her drs to get an hcg test xx
No experience Hun but anything is possible as nothing is 100% hope she’s ok x
Why did she take a test (or 20!) if she didn't think she was pregnant?
She was feeling sick and late. She just doesn't think the tests can be correct.
I know of at least 2 people that have been caught pregnant on the implant x
Likewis, of all the people I know who have had the implant, around 60% fell pregnant. One didn't realise until she was 28 weeks gone (she is a larger lady and had a front facing placenta)
It's entirely possible to catch on with implant. I'd say two test positive is pretty clear. No contraception is 100 percent. If she's I'll late and got 2 positives I'd say she was pregnant I was getting positives at 2 weeks pregnant
Update: She's been to the doctor and taken a test they said it’s highly unlikely she is pregnant. Still no period and having mild cramps.
They should have done hcg blood tests. By all accounts I think drs tests are a bit naff and or they don’t wait the recommended time to check the test.
I had the implant a couple of years ago and my periods stopped completely after about a year of having it... Although I did get the cramping and symptoms of a period just no bleeding. They came back randomly after I lost a bit of weight about a year and a half in. Still had the same implant in and it was within it's course.
It could be that she's experiencing something similar?
Mine stopped too with occasional spotting until spotting became more regular so got it took out
With the implant, how does she know if her period is late? As the implant is meant to completely stop periods...
Not necessarily. I bled constantly on mine. She is usually regular and has an app to track them.
I said they are meant to stop periods, in which they are. My friend also bled constantly on the implant - but as she bled constantly she still wouldn't of known if she was late or not regardless as periods are not regular when you have the implant.
I have known people to bleed constantly, not at all, spot here and there and also have periods but really irregular ones. Not have the implant and have your normal period every month when expected, if that is the case then clearly the implant doesn't work?
