I'm 5.5wks and have developed a rash in my upper thigh area which is spreading down my thighs / legs now. It is red, bumpy and super itchy! Not sure if it's coincidence or related to being pregnant? Anyone else experiencing similar?

It could just be a rash or it could be PUPPPs but it’s normally prevalent in the third timester. PUPPP isn’t dangerous and interestingly is mainly found in women carrying boys! I would speak to your GP or midwife to get a proper evaluation to be safe x

All sorts of rashes are common in pregnancy ... Who said that you get glowing skin wasn't really correct. It could be several things so seeing your GP us advisable. Wouldn't bother with midwife as they will ask you to see GP as not directly related to pregnancy.

In the mean time try no itch it don't use soaps on it, if you have a moisturiser which has no perfumes no colouring etc which be worth trying it.

See your GP but it sounds like it could be a reaction to something?

I had exactly same problem. Was told could be pregnancy hormones cauing fungal infection. It did not stop and so was put on hydrocortisone creams but nothing help. I am not trying to scare you, but did suffer with it until after my preganancy. I also had gestational diabetics, so it was suspected that its letting it heal. However, after my baby was born and the diabetics was gone, i was referred to dermatalogist. She had given me terabinafine hydrochloride. It just healed like magic with two application.

Sorry all the detail was to scare you but making you aware to get right and quick help because eventually i was told it was not pregancy that caused it. I had to suffer it throughout and then it kept spreading both ways to under belly and down legs. Worry not and contact your GP as soon as you can.

Thank you for the detail, I have thought if I was 'allergic' to my pregnancy because I have an allergy to semen /sperm so getting pregnant wasn't easy! What did they say it was in the end? Got appointment today at GP so will see. Thank you

Dermatalogist took a skin scrape and did confirm it was indeed fungal infection, but it was not treated well assuming it is caused by pregnancy or diabetics.
