Just found out pregnant what is next

I did pregnancy test yesterday and today is positive. Should I ring GP for appointment ??? I am not really sure xxxx

Congratulations! Yep go and to see your GP. They'll ask a few questions, give you the once over and then refer you to the midwifery team, you then wait for a letter to come through confirming our midwife apt that normally happens around 8-10 weeks of pregnancy. Your midwife will refer you for your first scan too at 12/13 weeks and the date/time is confirmed in a letter too. This is how it worked for me both times anyway!

I would call your surgery first and tell them if you need to see your gp or not... I didn't need to see them as I booked directly with midwives.

Have a look at NHS choices website which has a lot of info re ante natal, which foods to eat etc. Also make sure you're taking a vitamin supplement for pregnancy
