My LO is now 19 weeks old and had only been breast fed, I've expressed and he's had a bottle before but I'm considering giving him a formula feed before bed and also at other odd occasions. I've heard formula before bed can help with sleep, he currently struggles to do 3 hours. Has anyone else had any experience with 'combination feeding'? I feel a bit like I'm cheating him by giving him formula?

Formula feed
I don't combination feed I formula feed and genuinely think it's a lie that it helps with sleeping. My Lo is not a terrible sleeper, but I know some formula babies who are and my friends BF baby is slightly better than he is so. I really think that the baby is what matters, some babies get into routines easily others less so.
You could try persevering with a routine you might find that helps. I feel for you that must be really hard. All that being said absolutely don't feel guilty about formula feeding/ combination feeding It is entirely your choice. And there are huge amounts of very good reasons to make that desicon. I was breastfeed exclusively for 6 weeks, combi feed for 8 months. My sister never breast fed because she couldn't. We're both fine. My LO is being formula fed due to a late diagnosed tongue tie and over two months of failed help trying to get him to latch. In the end it was causing far too much stress and it was actually a gp who told me the benefits of Brest milk are not worth the stress it was causing us both.
No one should make you feel guilty or judged for your feeding choices. And there are plenty of reason to chose to formula/ combi feed.
My exclusively breasted baby started sleeping 10 hrs at night when she was 10 weeks old. I don't think it depends on what they eat.
Ps. 10 week old shouldn't go 10 hrs without a feed. Even now at 19 weeks i still wake her up for one feed in the middle of the night.
And as long as you combi feed your baby will be getting all the benefits of your milk, i am going to start my little one on formula soon, i do feel slightly guilty but i think it will pass once you get used to it.
