Hi. Unfortunately when you are pregnant there is not much other than the basics that you can do. Rest, drink lots of fluids and eat the best you can. In theory you can take some paracetamol but I think it is better if you don't, especially relatively early on. I found it was the only time I had to take time off work when pregnant because laying down stopped my head aching so much. I did find that hot Ribena or hot lemon helped but avoid honey. Sorry I can't be more help but like most pregnancy ailments it just another thing you have to sit and wait out x
Hi, hope you feel better soon. Paracetamol is OK during pregnancy but obviously limit this but don't have lemsips or beechams as they can cause problems in early pregnancy as are decongestives. Vics and olbas oil is OK to use also. I have had a horrible virus for the last 3 weeks that doesn't seem to be shifting and I am 31 weeks pregnant. Mine started with sinus pain which has now gone to throat pain and headaches. Just generally feeling wiped out. Your immune system is very low during pregnancy so also make sure you top your vitamin levels up properly.
hello emlou2906 how r u feeling now? I had so many colds before I was 16 weeks, I didn't take anything though as I can't swallow tablets 🙁 But I got flu jab at 16 weeks and apart from the odd sneeze (touch wood) but I have been fine since! Hope u r feeling better Rebecca
hi rebecca im not feeling to bad today thankyou. i have kept off the paracetamol completely just been eating alot of fruit and veg and using vics vapor rub at night just to help sleep with the cough. i need to get my flu jab done soon but they wont do it at the moment due to having this cold its just exhausting but luckily i have been on annual leave this week so havent missed work . im hoping this is the last f the cold s doesnt help with the weather tho. hope you keep well throughout your pregnancy
