First baby 15 weeks

15 weeks pregnant with my first baby. When did you start to show and when did you first feel the baby? x

Hi Jessica,

I'm afraid 'looking pregnant' is different for everyone. It completely depends upon your body type and tone. For example; very fit women often don't 'look' pregnant until after 20 weeks! Also, due to this being your first pregnancy your body has a whole lot more work to do in stretching your muscles and tissues so looking pregnant is often later than a woman having a second, third baby.

Feeling movements is also much later than you'd think. On average it's about 20 weeks, with some women experiencing them earlier and some later. To begin with it feels like fluttering in your tummy. Some women think it's gas as it's so subtle.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I agree with previous comment that each pregnancy / body is different.

My experience - also first baby: on week 16 I started to feel flutters, I was 2.2 lbs heavier than at the start of the pregnancy, went one bra cupsize up and a little bump started to apear Now week 19 and can't hide it any longer and seems that it's growing by day - now 3,3lbs heavier than 19 weeks ago.

The same week I went to see midwife and other woman in the queue in front of me was 16 weeks as me but she had a noticeable bump.

I am sure that your bump soon will start to show off 👶

And enjoy the flutters - so soothing to know that baby is doing great in there! (on week 18 baby was moving so much that I could not sleep 2 nights- cheeky 🐵. Now it slowed down)

It depends really I am having my 4th pregnancy at the moment and each one has been different. With my first I showed at about 14 weeks but she has excessive fluid around her. I didn't feel her until 18 weeks. With my 2nd I didn't show until about 16 weeks and felt him at 16 weeks. With my third I felt him at 16 weeks and showed at about 18. With this one a girl I felt her, small flutters at 13 weeks, then it went off for a few weeks until about 16 weeks. I showed at about 17 weeks. Each time has been different. Good luck x
