Spasms in lower back at 39 weeks

I have been having short painful spasms at the bottom of my back for a few days. Could this be the start of labour or is it Braxton Hicks?

Hi Katrina, poss Braxton Hicks as you don't have other symptoms (such as waters breaking, etc.)

I'm no expert tho (first time mum myself to 14 week old boy), so recommend you check in with your Midwife / Midwifery Team as they will be able to go through all symptoms with you & let you know if labour started.

My little boy was 2 weeks late & they kept telling me I would know if labour had started. I had a lot of Braxton Hicks & kept thinking he was coming, but they were right in then end, once I was induced, he came quickly & it was more obvious I was in labour.
