Pregnant and nervous
Hey, congratulations!
Those nerves are totally normal, I spent most of my pregnancy feeling very anxious (I'm naturally a worrier). I think it's a combination of the dreaded hormones and a natural mothering instinct to protect our little ones. I remember feeling such mixed emotions when I went for the first scan - I had no idea what to expect and was terrified that there wouldn't be anything there (esp. as I was lucky not to have many pregnancy symptoms at all). I've heard a lot of people saying that though!
The only advice I can give is if you're particularly worried about something, then don't let it bottle up - talk to people. This forum is brilliant for getting things off one's chest! Also, remember that every pregnancy is different so if you feel different symptoms to your first, then it doesn't mean there's anything wrong! X
Thank you I have being feeling sick at times not all time every day and bloating etc hope all goes well!
Hi I'm 11 weeks and spent the whole time worrying (and still am!) I was never a worrier before and people keep telling me it's normal, so I understand where you're coming from!
I don't have any kind of scan date yet but I also worry that there'll be nothing there despite the symptoms i have had.
I agree that if there's something that is worrying you a lot, don't keep it in. Talk to family, partner doc, mifwife etc ... or vent on these forums
hi dizzy,
i think at this early stage is absolutely normal to be nervous because you aren't really sure what to expect!
i am now 13 + 1 with my first baby and had my scan last week which really put my mind at ease.
if your nerves are keeping you up at night or causing you to feel over anxious you should speak with your midwife who can give you some great advice. My midwife has been really helpful and has answered a lot of my questions - no matter how silly they are!
also remember that the people using this site are going/have been through the same thing a lot of the time so there are some good tips you can pick up from the yummy mummies!
hope your nerves ease soon and you enjoy the rest of your pregnancy
Thank you I just can never remember feeling like this with my first! But fingers crossed everything will be fine went to the doctors and she said everything seems fine and nature to worry am just a worrier seen as I didn't have a straight forward pregnancy with my little boy xx
Oh boy did I feel nervous and excited all at the same time, I got myself In utter knots about the whole thing, getting excited about seeing little on for the first time, then sorting there would be something wrong or no baby, my daggers 15 months now lol, but I'm five weeks pregnant so no doubt I'll be a worry wart all over again, and I know of plenty of mums who have been the same, I think we all do it lol, try not to worry Hun xxx
