Any advice on swim wear for 3month old baby please...?

I'm hoping to take my son swimming for the 1st time soon but am so confused about what to put him in?! I'm worried about him getting cold quickly so bought a little short sleeved sun suit so my plan was to put a disposable swim nappy underneath...but the suits not 'skin tight' so im worried if the nappy leaks it will come out the legs! I then read that the double nappy method is best, which from what I gather means getting a swim nappy then a tight fitting neoprene nappy over the top. Just wondered if anyone who has taken their little ones swimming what worked for you?? Thanks x

I've always just used the swim nappy and an all in one like u mentioned and never had a problem thing is if they poo and it's runny it will leak a bit mixed with water is inevitable. .. That has been my personal experience but it's only happened once... Be interesting to see other mums experiences but the all in one def keeps them warmer xx

We've been taking our daughter swimming since she was 4mnths old at first we just used to put her in her swimming costume and swimming happy but she used to get really cold now she wears a romper with a swimming happy while waiting for the warmer weather x

Hi, we have always used just a swim nappy and swimsuit also. When we started swim lessons they say that the baby wetsuits are good for helping LO keep warmer. A lessons all the kids are requested to wear a swim nappy, swimsuit or wetsuit and something called a happy nappy, this seemingly prevents any leaks escaping from swim nappy and its something you just rinse out. X

We use a swim nappy and a wetsuit. He's always warm and happy. We are off swimming later in fact and he loves it.

With the wetsuit we use Huggies disposable swim nappies

We use a disposable Huggies swim nappy with a Happy Nappy over the top. This has a tight tummy & legs to prevent leakage! Iv read that if they have swimming lessons then most places recommend the Happy Nappy. The water should be at least 32 degrees for babies so if your swimming pool has a parent & baby session then it should be warm enough without a wetsuit. You won't be in for very long anyway, usually 20 mins or so is long enough xx

Hi :) I still havn't taken my little one swimming yet, and still choosing a swim suit. I think I've decided on one from happy nappy- mainly because they are just really cute lol

As for the disposables, Huggies swim nappies are good, and I've also used tescos own brand on children I've minded- they are perfectly fine too :) happy swimming xx

My 12wk old uses a Huggies swim nappy with one of these over the top twobarefeet.co.uk/baby-swim...
