Please help ladies with babies! Im due in just under 3 weeks and am trying to stock up on the important bits like nappies and wipes.

I have a lot of cotton wool for the first few weeks when babies bums are extra sensitive but want to stock up on the wipes for after. Do any of you ladies have advice on the best nappies and softest wipes? I dont want to buy huge boxes of ones im not going to get on with. Thank you

I absolutely recommend Aldi nappies and their sensitive wipes - excellent value for money and excellent products. Wipes are big in size and 80 in a pack where others are usually only 64 xxx

I used Asda Little Angels latterly with my wee boy, found them better than pampers and much cheaper! So I'm going to try their newborn ones for this one. I've never really stuck to one type of wipes to be honest, usually what ever is best value or on offer. Although I do always pick the sensitive non-fragranced ones as I've always been a bit funny with what fragrances etc could do to wee ones delicate skin. X

I use Morrison's nappies, they do sensitive ones for newborns. Never had a problem. I love huggies wipes! Very thick and soft. Currently on offer in morrisons buy one get 2 free so 3 packs for £2.50 when this offer is on we buy as many packs as possible! The "pure" ones are nice for newborn but now my son is older I use the aloe Vera and Shea butter ones which smell delightful! X

I used asda little angels when my LO was smaller then I moved on to lidl pull ups, both are cheaper than pampers and much thicker, as for wipes I use Tesco fragrance free wipes (i like them as they have a plastic lid rather than the plastic sticky one, so i find that unlike other brands they don't dry out ) but my best advise is to try because different nappies and wipes suit different babies in different ways.

Im using Asdas little angels extra care wipes and I prefer them over pampers, I also prefer asdas nappies over pampers!

I use pampers wipes and get 700 for £10 from amazon. I use pampers nappies purely as I got bought so many b4 he was born and just carried on getting them but get them from amazon too, x

I don't have a lot of choice where I live - wish we had an aldi as their nappies are supposed to be brilliant. I use pampers - like ceribean I get these of amazon for as little as 11p per nappy (look out for the prices per nappy as some retailers charge way over the odds). I would avoid the orange packet 'super dry' pampers though - although I've not tried them, they don't have good reviews. Mine is in active fit during the day and baby dry during the night. I've tried boots, tescos own brands and huggies. Disliked the huggies more than any others but I think they are being fazed out in the UK now.

Hate huggies baby wipes - they are so wet and tear too easily (but the aloe vera ones smell soooo good!). I tend to use boots baby wipes as they are quite often on offer and I've been using them on my own bottom for years. If they are good enough for me they are good enough for my beautiful daughter

Pampers do some good deals u need to look around thou like tesco was doing buy 2 packs of 62 nappies for £14 but aldi nappies are great too x

All tesco supermarkets have a good deal on for pampers nappies at the moment with 2 large bags for £14, - I personally buy my wipes & nappies from either EBay or Amazon as they sell the monthly saver packs for usually free delivery too.

Like you I'm stocking up on nappies n wipes!! Have bought a selection of "44" pack nappies from pampers, aldi and asda as they've been recommended to me to try. I'm also going to give kiddicare's nappies too as seem some good reviews of them too. Wipes- I've bought Tesco fragrance free for once I'm done with cotton wool n water but will prob end up buying whatever is on special when out shopping

I would say don't stock up loads on nappies. I did and my baby boy grew so fast I had bags of nappies he didn't fit into! I found water wipes great for the first few weeks after switching from cotton wool. I now use johnsons for bottoms and huggies for faces after messy meals! Lol! Xxx

My little one isn't here yet, but after doing loads of research I found that "Water Wipes" were coming out as the best as they a predominantly made with water and have less chemicals in them then other wipes and from other reviews from others mums I saw, they were good for babies with sensitive skin, so I've been slowly buying packs of those from Kiddicare.

I use a slightly different type of wipe. Reusable cheeky wipes. They are basically mini flannels with a very sodt side, that you have in a box add water and some oil (all is provided with them) once ised put them to soak in the mucky tub till you do your next load of washing.Its n for everyone but we like them plus you know exactly what you are put on little ones skin.

We also use reusable nappies, bambino mio two piece. Very easy to use and amazing value for money.

We spent £200 on a birth to potty nappy kit and won't need to buy any more (although we probably will buy disposable ones when on holiday for ease).

Every babies bum is different, i couldnt use asda wipes on lo bum as she would go rashy, pampers wipes were fine, ive stuck with johnstones nappies. Tried all the nappies! Aldis are equally as good as asda little angels and are cheaper. Only nappies I ever use are pampers,asda,aldis. Whoever has best deal on. However aldis are abit out of the way for me so I use other two mostly. Congratz and good luck hun x

Hi I chose to use pampers as friends rated them good for boys & they have been fine for my son. I bought a couple of boxes of size 1 which lasted nearly 2 weeks by which time I was happy to glad to get out the house & pop to the shops! He's now 10 weeks old & just into size 3 so I wouldn't go mad on buying newborn sizes as they seem to grow out of them pretty quick! I'll prob go onto a cheaper supermarket brand later on have also heard aldi is good.I bought pampers sensitive wipes but since realised i prefer huggies as seem more water based. I would also get quite a few bags of cotton wool balls & pads as to start with the hospital advise u to only use cotton wool & water to wash & clean baby for first few weeks/month so I used a ton of cotton wool! hope this helps x

Recommendation off this site, also tried pampers, but the best ones for my little girl is the lidl ones, and they are great value, also thought id give thier wipes a go and they were good especially for the price 80 wipes for 89p. But my favourite wipes are huggies they are so much thicker & softer than any others (you can generally get 64 for £1.)

With regards to nappies I wouldn't get too many till u try different ones out and see what suits ur little one best.

I have a 2 year old and an 8 week old boys and I use huggies pure or the tesco fragrance free home make. Alhough I will soon be converting to reusable clofh wipes to go with my cloth nappies that im now using on my 8 week old as I have been rold it much cheaper in the long run as your aashing and reusing the wipes so wont need to buy loads of packets

Try a few different nappies as it will depend on you & your little as which you prefer. Personally I didn't like Pampers -they smelt horrid when wet with wee! Boots nappies are our fave (with Sainsburys a close second); we stock up when Boots do their 3for2 offer. I use non-fragranced baby wipes -Boots or Huggies are our fave.

My baby is 13 weeks old, the best wipes I’ve used are the amazon own brand sensitive ones. They hold more moisture and wipe well. Some of the other cheaper supermarket wipes seem to be dry and too thin to wipe properly. But everyone has their preference use a few recommended wipes and you’ll find the ones you like. I’m not sure what the rules are at the hospital you are giving birth at, but when I gave birth we were only allowed to use cotton wool and water or Water Wipes. So we used Water Wipes for the first few months and then switched to Aldi sensitive wipes.

Nappies I have always used Pampers at first as I like the urine indicator and then switched to Aldi nappies.

You might find you try an array of nappies to find the right fit/absorbency for your baby. Mine urinated a lot so we needed a good absorbency level. Xx

We started with ASDA nappies and wipes but when she got bigger she just smelt of wee so swapped to aldi nappies which are great and cheap. We eventually changed to their wipes too as ASDA changed them and they smell awful. We used wipes from birth but just double check what to take to hospital as they can be fussy about wipes xx

I can definitely recommend also nappies and wipes, we been using them since LG was born, she’s now 1 and have had no problems at all. The green wipes, fragrance free and sensitive.

We tried pampers aswell, which were fine, but aldi are much cheaper and we have had no problems.

We tried loads of different wipes, we are still using Aldi wipes, but I can also recommend aveeno (just pricey, but was a gift) all the over wipes, made my little sore, we we have just stuck with Aldi x
