Achey pelvis at 8 weeks pregnant

It could be spd but that usually happens a bit later on in pregnancy around 5 months. If you tell your midwife at your next appointment she's going to know more than I do. Good luck x
Hi, I had pelvic pains quite early on and was reassured that it's a normal part of pregnancy. Mine unfortunately developed into pelvic girdle pain & I'm having physio for it now (I'm 34 weeks), so definitely keep an eye on yours as it can get a lot worse. My physio said if I'd started seeing her earlier (before my bump got bigger) she could've got rid of the pain but now all she can do is try and make it manageable. My sister-in-law had pain in her hip too and physio worked for her so it may be worth trying to get a referral from your GP. Be prepared to push for it though as they may fob you off! Hope it gets easier.
I had pain in my abdomen at about 8 weeks and so did a woman I work with. Apparently it's to do with the ligaments which will eventually support your baby-belly lengthening and growing. Quite unexpected. Not sure if this helps. Another thought is perhaps it's part of your joints loosening which also happens in pregnancy... good luck.
Hey, I had exactly the same at about 8-9 weeks! As Mrsgfa says, it's to do with your ligaments and joints. I still get occasional niggles, but they're just 'growing pains' (I'm 28 weeks). Warm baths and hot water bottles help X
Hey all - just a quick note to say don't have your baths or hot water bottle too hot, baby's temp needs to stay low xx
Thamks everyone - i will keep an eye on it - I have had lower back/pelvic problems in the past which were mainly due to having an office job and I found going swimming helped so I think I could possible develop problems with SPD in the future but we shall see
