Hi, I've just found out I'm pregnant ... - Pregnancy and Par...
Hi, I've just found out I'm pregnant when will I have my first midwife appointment?
Hello, and congratulations
I think the way appointments are booked depends on where you live (going by what I've read from some other ladies on here versus my experience). I phoned up my Doctors surgery the day after I found out (about 6 weeks), told the receptionist I was pregnant and explained I didn't know who to see (I thought I would need to see a GP), but I was booked in with a midwife about three weeks later. The reason I had to wait was because she is only in the surgery once a week!
If you've had a GP appointment, did they say they would put you in touch? X
Congratulations, I think apple-tea got it right by saying it depends on where you as to who you have to phone, i have a midwife run birthing centre in my town (and even if this is not the one i will giving birth in) I still go there for all my appointments and advice until I go into labour and because of this I phoned them direct and booked my own appointment they seen at about 8 wks. I do not see a doctor unless i have problem or a complication. Hope this helps x
Depends how many midwives your drs surgery has/how many days they work but roughly about 6-8weeks.
