How to introduce a snuggler / comforter

I've got one of those little bears with the lovely soft snuggly material attached and I want my little boy to eventually associate it with sleep times and use it as a comforter. What's the best way to introduce it? What age is best?

I realise not all babies want one but I'd like to try anyway. He's 17 weeks old.

I'd say as soon as possible........ As long as you're happy with the material of it & etc... I don't see why not, especially if it helps him to get to sleep on his own.

I've started using one, just when she is napping in the lounge for now though so I can see she isn't covering her face with it (like she does with a bib and a towel) - she just chews on the knots at the moment.

Hey, we did this with our son, he loves them and has about 6!! We just started laying it on his chest/next to his face when he was napping and we could see him. He knows now that it means nap time.

He also wanted it at bedtime but we were worried about him covering his face so we put it under his head and he cooches his face into the teddy part - it's quite cute actually!! He's 6 months now so he can pull it off his face if he puts it on there which he does regularly!!!xx

Like the others say, introduce it at nap time you could also sleep with it for a few days to get your scent on it. My son likes them but more for sucking the label! (Loves labels... maybe it's because we called him Hugo?! Lol) x

My 2 year old boy has one, I lay it down on his pillow and as soon as he gets into bed he pulls in over his face. I started just putting it in his cot and he would lay his head on it.

whenever u comfort ur baby , rock them to sleep , put them down 2 sleep , lay it across their shoulder to their cheek .

its a massive help when taking them to nursery / childminder / babysitter etc .. as they always have that comfort to hand even when ur not there .

my 4 yo gave up his dummy just b4 he was 3 but still has his 'cubby' (cover / blanket) and rubbed 1 specific corner -that he calls goi goi - on his nose as hes nodding off (doesnt really do that now ) : (

iv done the same with my daughter whos now 6 months and she loves her blanket allready, we trap the bottom corner in between the cot so as a rule she only has 1 corner up to her face but it depends on size .

i recomend u buy at least duplicate , when he was younger my son would accept anything at all material but now only 2 that are identical ( to buy ) but he preferes 1 over he other because the goi goi is better !!! ha ha ha
