One amazing year...

...since I discovered I was pregnant. It seems incredible, but this time last year I had my first positive test and now I have a 16 week old baby feeding in my arms. My prayers were answered literally and my life has changed for ever in ways I could not imagine.

Joshua as a happy healthy little boy who loves to be as physically active as possible when he is awake.

He's not particularly chubby but he's getting so long with only about 4 inches of head space in his Moses basket and getting towards the end of his 3-6 month baby grows.

Most nights he sleeps from 10 - 6! His bedtime is creeping towards 9pm.

During the day his naps are reluctant and sporadic. He needs to feed every 3-4 hours but definitely asks more frequently if he's tired or upset.

We've been attending a 4 week postnatal group which has just finished and a 4 week baby massage class. We've also been going to Bumps and Babies so he can meet others who are more his own size.

I'm now trying to get my body back towards it's pre-pregnancy shape. I've attended a couple of baby fitball classes and been out for a couple of short runs. This time last year I was training up for the Bath Half marathon, but had to stop my running due to tiredness. It's going to be a while before I can be that fit again, but I wouldn't change a thing.

I've now got to face the reality of going back to work, which I've got to do after Easter. It's going to be really hard but I know that it'll be ok once things get into a routine and my little man will love going to nursery with lots of other little people.

All in all it's been an amazing adventure and I'm loving every minute :-)

ahh what a cheeky chap, so cute. I have a long baby too, his daddy is 6ft 5 so I guess hes gonna b tall too, hes already fitting in some 6-9 stuff at 22 weeks.

thts cool, its gd to go baby groups, I try and do 2 a week but where I have met loads of new people and finley has made some little friends and even a girlfriend I am often round their houses and its really nice to have friends tht have children as most of my friends don't.

I am going bk to work just b4 easter which sucks but just think tht u will be able to give him the best, all I think is tht next yr when I am sitting on the beach in the Caribbean on our holiday going bk to work will all be worth it.

gd on u for exercising, I will b honest, I like food too much lol xx

Ah yes, his cheeky smile means he is a right little charmer!

We think his height must come from his Grandad as none of my family are tall.

Yeah, I think I would go nuts sitting at home all day though I'm not brilliant at socialising it's good to meet other parents.

I'm not sure about the Caribbean (love the idea though), but it's enough to get us by with a few treats here and there.

I'm getting a bit fed up of my spare tyres so it's good motivation for me to get out and exercise, plus I love the freedom I get when running - really missed it when pregnant and it would be good to do the Bath Half again after a 2year gap xx

What a cutey! I need to find a baby group to attend....the last one is over now and I was ill for some of them anyway....how lame of me lol. I need to get into some sort of shape other than Mr blobby haha! Not sure how successful it'll be with my stretch marks keeping the sag alive lol :-)

I shall be working part time soon. ..once I find a job of course. I won't bother full time as I can't afford the childcare :/ it'll be tight til my babies (current and future) are in school and I can put in more hours or even entertain the thought of a career having really not been a career girl up to this point :-) x

Thanks. I've somehow evaded the stretch marks but still have an extra 6-7 inches around my belly :-(

I'm lucky in that I've had steady employment since I left school even if it's not the most interesting job. The cost of childcare is ridiculous but we've just re-mortgaged and gone onto a fixed rate until the little man starts school. I'm not really bothered about a career, but promotion one day might be nice :-)

Yep I've always worked...though switched around in jobs lol. And did the uni thing but half way through realised I hated the career I was headed towards...finished the degree though as I was there lol. Something I'm passionate about would be nice, something I enjoy going to work for. Might be searching for some time haha. x

Ah he's so sweet :-) I'd known for 10 days that I was pregnant this time last year, I was feeling revolting this time last year too!

Glad you're all getting on well xx

Thanks. I felt fine at the time I found out, but it hit me a week or so later and I was cream crackered and soil nauseous. Well worth it though :-)
