He's 12.5 weeks and we want to take him soon, is it ok to take babies at this age? X

When can I take my baby swimming for the first time?
Hi, Hugo was 3 months when we took him. We went on holiday to Scotland and wend every day fir about 3 days, then he got a cold! Could have been from swimming or just a coincidence... Defo go as its lots of fun, maybe just for a short time at first? Xx
I was wondering the same myself. Already bought a couple of swimming costumes (cos they are just sooooo cute!) x
Yh it's fine to take them at that age. I still haven't got round to taking my boy who is now 21 weeks as I have been almost continuously ill since his birth! But I have bought him a new wetsuit and some swim nappies are going next weekend! Have fun! x
Hey, I've been taking my LO to swimming lessons since he was 10 weeks. Dr and midwife confirmed it's fine. Ideally you should visit a pool where water temp is at least 30 degrees - they'll tell you if you ask. Most pools that cater for babies and toddlers will be. Def recommend being ready to feed them after as they get hungry!!! Have fun!!
Yeh its fun I went on first time on Wednesday. .u only need to spend 20ins in and wud recommend going with someone as its a bit tricky sorting urself and baby after getting out x
Thank you!! My husband has a few days off next week so we're going to take him together x
Yeah its really nice I took my lo after she had had her 2nd set of injections not sure on official ok time to take them thou. She absolutely loved it kicking around like mad only was in for about 20min as didnt want to over do it when I got out she was so hungry n tired def will go again soon hope u have fun
I took my lil one after his first jabs, at 8 weeks ( i asked the doctor if it was ok), he loved it, and goes about twice a week! (Hes 10weeks now) the getting out can be tricky, i go with my husband and get out first, and use my towel to collect him in (the swim nappy drentches the towel, so savehis towel to dry with after its been removed). Ive also got him a float he sits in, so he can float around for a bit first to extend the length in the pool. Have fun xx
Thank you! What do u dress him in? Do u only need a wetsuit if it's colder than 30 degrees? Also, do you do a double nappy? So a swimming nappy like Huggies Little Swimmers then one over the top which has elasticated sides and top to prevent leakage? Where did u get one of those from? Thanks
It shud b warmer than 30 degrees. I put my son in a swimming nappy and then his little costume not so much a wet suit. But u can get ones from mothercare tht has in built nappy but u don't need to double up. X
My doctor told me I could take my daughter swimming after her first injections at 8 weeks. I've booked her in to start a course on 14th Feb. She'll be 12 weeks then.
Hiya, i just put him in 1 huggies swim nappy and thats it, the pool at our gym is 32 degrees, so plenty warm for nothing else x
Just wanted to say what a cutie your little boy is X
