Breast pumps?
Hi, I read your birth story! Hope your starting to feel better
I just use as Avent Manual I've had no problems with leaks or the like, you have to patient pumping milk as can take a while but I am usually happy with a 3-5oz (80-120ml) collection with this and store a lot of it in freezer bags (the lansinoh ones) I got all my kit on Amazon I picked it up for £25. I could not justify the cost for electric.
Watch the micro sterilisers, I specifically brought a microwave to sterilise my kit, only it wouldn't fit in....grr! I was not defeated and found a way to get it into the glass plate but its a pain xx
I have avent manual and an electric one. Both fab and range of bottles brill too, all interchangeable x
I have the tommee tippee manual. ..first thing in morning I can get 100-120ml no probs...i usually dovit while feeding my son.. just prop is head with the nursing pillow and then 2 hands too pump. X
I have the medela mini electric its brilliant got it from mothercare for 35 was a lot more but got them to price match with one on amazon I had a nuby manual b4 and it took ages n realy hurt this one is a life saver only issue I have is my lo refuses to take a bottle haha but goin to keep trying so glad j got this pump to keep expressing with x
Big fan of medela swing. I couldn't get the manual ones to work and I end up expressing a fair bit. And get the big avent steam steriliser, way less hassle. If you're not doing it much then look for the medela sterilising bags, very handy and cost a tenner.
Medela definitely. I have both the Swing model and the Mini. Mini is cheaper but worth investing in the Swing. Sometimes NCT has offers on it which makes it a bit cheaper. Been using mine for a year and it is brilliant. I tried the Phillips Avent electric to start with but just couldn't get the hang of it. Found the medela much better.
I have the avent electric one. I couldn't justify the cost of the medela. I'm really happy with the avent though.
Ameda Lactaline personal is great (it is an electric pump), I use it with the Simple Wishes hands free bustier so I can have my breakfast/ type on the PC while I pump.
I have a Tommee Tippee manual pump which I use about twice daily so my hubby can give feeds.
The pump I bought came with a steriliser box which can be used to sterilise both pump & a small bottle which I find really handy. I also bought the larger microwave steam steriliser as I'll be using it a lot when I go back to work.
I'm very happy with the kit and find it easy to use the pump one handed whilst feeding off the other side.
I've got the Tommee Tippee electric breast pump, was told my midwife to not get the manual one as it isn't very good. But the electric has worked fine for me, has different settings so you can adjust which one your comfortable with & the higher the setting the quicker the milk flows. I use mine first thing in the morning, takes about 10/15 minutes to get a 4oz bottle so its nice & quick when I'm in a hurry. Would definitely recommend!
I had the medela swing but found it rubbish. I only got it as it's the brand the hospital use. I returned it stating it was faulty as I was getting x4 the amount with the avent manual pump. Maybe it was faulty... For sterilising, I have the avent steamer but hardly use it as I find cold water sterilising with Milton so much easier. No need to rinse and the tablets are so cheap.
