So I'm really considering buying a breast pump but Ive always being the a girl who likes to buy something which is both quality for money & not too high priced ( Aka a bargain)
My mind is obviously telling me that an electric pump is better than a manual pump as its most likely to save more time & be cleaned / sterilised for next use, but then Im now also considering buying a manual pump as they're cheaper, smaller & quieter and going to be quieter than a electric pump.
Ive being "religiously" looking at most of the on-line stores & stockists of baby feeding equipment & Ive seen some "reasonable" good prices for both an Electric & manual pump but Im still in limbo on which one to get
any suggestions are welcome, : )p
I like the look of the "tommee tippee" manual pump as the suction looks alot more powerful than some.

I have got the manual tommee tippee pump. it depends how much u plan to use it as its a lot of money to spend on an electric one if you don't plan to use it that much, my friend had an electric one but she used it loads so was worth it for her, but I don't know how frequently I plan to use it, I do have a few events in October so would be good to express as getting out of a bridesmaid dress every few hours will be a bit of hassle lol. I know kiddicare have quite good deals on right now so if u haven't checked on there see what they have x

Ive checked Kiddicare & seen the tommee tippee manual pump for 18 pounds "I think"
& Yeah, you're right I guess it depends how much im planning to use it.
My intitial thoughts are to use it to help the product of breast milk to come in those 1st few weeks really
Hey hun,how you doing, I had Manuel tommee tippee pump with my daughter but could hardly get anything out so this time I got a electric Tommee tippee and I managed to get 5oz out in 10mins so personally id go for electric again even though they are quite noisy lol xx
Ive been looking at those Medela mini's on Ebay & amazon but ive been "seriously reluctant into buying those as they are "famous" for selling one part of the pump quite cheaply then the add-on accessories are usually expensive.
But if you ( as Dr fluffy) recommend it it's gotta be good.
I have a medela swing, used it for 8 months daily, back to work 5 months in. A bit temperamental by the end but colleague is using it now and says it is much better than her tommee tippee electric, much quieter and more effective. Definitely recommend electric over manual...I hurt my hand in labour so would have given up with a manual. I would have bought a double pump in hindsight, but just borrowed a second from a friend instead. Much faster when ay work!
I got the avent manual comfort on clearance and found it really comfortable. As going to need it alot more, i have just purchased the new avent electric comfort (scf332/01). I find it so comfy- and i can express 4oz in 5mins. Lots of recent reviews on Amazon but i bought it second hand on ebay for £55
Yeah the avent breast pump manual & electric can be quite high priced but im also a Lil reluctant to buying a 2nd hand one as im very particular about cleanliness.
I accidentally ordered 3 Tommy Tippee manual breast pumps from amazon. None if them have been used, the boxes haven't even been opened. I can let you have one for £7. Let me know if you're interested.
They are brand new and unused. I ordered them before I had Lily and then ended up staying in hospital for over 2 weeks and was unable to breast feed as my milk did not come in due to my operation/recovery. I never even opened the boxes.
Have you investigated hiring a pump? Then you can give it a go and if it works for you you could buy that one.
I have an Avent electric (old from my sister) and it has bits to make it a hand one - I didn't get on with the electric and hand took even longer!
First couple of weeks baby will barely be off the breast anyway - they get your milk to the level they need. Be aware if you express you may overproduce and if you then stop expressing you could get mastitis. My baby was Tongue tied and I got mastitis twice, it's not nice.
