I had my LO 15 days ago and my bleeding had been tapering off nicely & I hadn't bled for a few days up until just now when I had to rush to the toilet and passed a large bright red blood clot. I haven't felt any pain, should I be worried?

Bleeding
This happened to me in first couple of days.maybe call hv in morning too check if its normal after a couple of weeks..it may well be but I cnt remember. . didnt stop bleeding for about 6 weeks..although after a couple it got a lot lighter but I think I overdid it one day and it got heavy again x
I had similar....though I had a c section so am unsure as to whether bleeding is different. I'd had clots everyday for the week I was in hospital..getting smaller each time. Then after a few weeks the bleeding seemed to slow, clots again and back on the bleeding. 6 weeks came I had to get on the pill to regulate the bleeding as it was so heavy. My doctor didn't seem concerned about the odd big clot. Doesn't hurt to get checked over though x
Same thing happened to me, but mine was like a tennis ball and dark red, I didn't tell them until a week later and they said anything
bigger than a 50p peice should be reported. Just be on the safe side make enquiries. I'm fine though so I shouldn't worry.
It's not unusual to pass the occasional clot - the blood collects and starts to congeal then you pass it. Lots of clots or clots that smell terrible or look like liver need to be checked out to rule out retained products x
Same thing happened to me and I was really shaken up so phoned the hospital. Are you breastfeeding? Sometimes if your LO has a big feed it can cause hormones to make the clots detach. If you're worried call the hospital / HV though. Hope you're ok x
Thanks for everyone's replies. I haven't passed any more clots since last night, I'm still lightly bleeding bright red blood though but I'm thinking this is just normal. The clots were no bigger than a 50p. If I see anymore I will phone the HV but I'm not worrying myself too much.
And yes SaraPeanut I am breast feeding so it could have been related to that. Thanks.
