Hi everyone. Any advice on this: came off pill 6mth ago, trying since then for baby. Period 8 days late, test negative. GP very unhelpful :(

Could i be preg even though test negative? Have had no period pain or usual sign of period other than very bloated.

Yes. A test will sometimes give you false negative results. Try again in a few day if no period and use your first urine of the day for the test. Good luck.

Thank you. Will re do test in few days. Do you think there is any great difference/benefit in buying a more expensive test?

Personally no. Clear blue is meant to be the best but if you can read the others I think they are just as good. I was positive on day of missed period on sainsburys and an asda test. With an evening urine sample. You can always drop a sample off at docs that is free.

I would stay away frm sainsburys tests.. got rubbish online reviews...I got a pack if 3...all negative..no faint lines nothing so got a clear blue same day and was positive and turned out was 6 weeks.

I got one from asda that cost £1 & had positive result but didn't trust it & got a clear blue one later that night - also positive. Good luck, fingers crossed xxx

I used clear blue digital on both tests. first one came back negative when I was 8 days late and the second one came back positive and 6 weeks pregnant a week later. sometimes you know before a test can tell you. do another test in a week to be sure xx

Thanks. I did another test today still neg Still no period though and still bloated. Saw gp again today but no help what soever. told me to wait til it has been a year of being off pill and go back if still having no bleeding!! seems mad! don't understand why i am not bleeding? x

that can happen. the first time I came off the pill I didnt have a bleed for a year. Sometimes it just takes your body time to get used to things again. stay positive xx
