Best place to get measured for maternity bra?

Just wondering if anyone can give me advice about where to go to get measured for a maternity bra? I am wearing the comfort crop top style bras at the mo from sainsburys which are fantastic, but I am a bridesmaid for my sis next month and my dress needs something more bra like! Thanks everyone xx

I like M and S, I've bought support bras and nursing bras from there, but I hated the ones from Mothercare they don't wash well and have stretched. Also check out the NCT site. :)

I got some from m and s and also got nursing bras from there and also and online shop called bravado which do pretty nursing bras. X

Also have a look at debenhams I got 2 from mothercare don't like them! I forgot about debenhams they liked nice when I had a look before x

I go to Bravissimo - fantastic if you've got bigger boobs.

OUr local NCT branch has a bra lady who measures - very accurately (which she reckons mothercare don't) and then has a stock of bras or can order from NCT stock - might be worth checking out if you have a local one.

I got some from m&s but found that it was best to go in and try some on in store then get them online because they have better offers :-) really really comfy as well. X

My advice is DON'T GO TO DEBENHAMS. I had a bra fitter measure me up as a 34D -quite a difference to my pre-preg 34B! Went & picked up a couple of different plain tshirt bras for work. Got home, tried them on & WAY too tight. Felt like a restrictive sports bra: my boobs were all squished up in the middle & my armpits were spilling out over the sides -NOT a good look! ;) Threw myself at the mercy of M&S. Turns out I'm a 36C and because they only sell M&S brand I have now stocked up on 4 plain & 1 'sexy' bra and they all fit perfectly. Happy boobies :D

PS: M&S gave good advice to come back 2weeks before due date to get measured for nursing bra (they up the cup size to allow for breast pads if you plan to feed)

ALSO did you know that if you take an old M&S item to Oxfam they will give you a £5 M&S voucher.

I wud wait to get nursing bras till u hav actually had ur baby as frm my experience I got nursing bras and then when my son arrived 5 weeks ago I cud of done with bigger cup size as when my milk came in u cnt predict how big u will get. I managed but I wudnt get ur nursing bras till ur baby is born.

Best place I've found is Bravissimo - the ladies there are FANTASTIC and all the measuring is done by sight, no tape measures and adding/subtracting numbers to worry about. I got all my maternity bra's from there. I bought mine about 4 weeks before my due date and they took this into account when sorting out my size. I went in wearing a 38C and came out with a proper fitting bra that was actually a 32H! (No wonder my boobs felt horrible all the time with that much of a difference!)

Proper fitting bra's are a must at anytime in a woman's life but pregnancy and breastfeeding are the MOST important. Even if you only go to see how they measure you up, head to your local Bravissimo before your LO comes along, you'll be grateful you did, they are wonderful and i now won't go anywhere else!
