Hi

Should I have a midwife app between my 12 week and 20 week Scan? I've not heard anything from the doctors/ midwife? I do have my app set up for the scan but nothing in between?

x

Yes you normally have a 16 week midwife appointment as well. Maybe call your midwife? Or check your notes...they tend to write appointment times in there and maybe they forgot to say anything to you

Hi

Thanks for responding, no they said nothing to me. I had a student midwife for my first appointment as the midwife I was appointed was due to go on Mat leave herself, not sure who my actual midwife will be :o/

I had a similar situation....I didn't have the same midwife for any of my first 3 appointments lol. They should have given you someone's number for the time being in case you need anything...if not call the clinic/surgery/hospital your midwife is based at and see if hey have an appointment written in for you. If not explain the situation and get one booked in. I had a sort of 16week appointment but mine was cancelled as I was on my way there so I still went and insisted they at least answered any questions I had and checked my blood pressure and stuff so I didn't have to wait too long

Yes you should have a 16 week appointment. This appointment should have been arranged when you had your last appointment. Ring the GP and ask if they look after her appointments and make one for 16 weeks.

Yeh u should have an appointment at around 16 weeks although I didn't have mine until 18 weeks but yeh call up and try and get an app but it doesn't hav to b dead on 16 weeks xx

I have to sort all my own out. At the 9week booking she wrote down the dates that I need to see her or doctor and near each one I have to phone surgery and book myself in. So maybe the same for you? X

I wouldn't get too set on seeing the same midwife all the time as I'm 31+2 and I have seen a different midwife every time I've been to gp or hospital which is sad really because I won't be familiar with the midwife at the birth as I am going to the city hospital so would of been nice to have some consistency before that point. Any way back to your question lol yes you should have 16 appointment you will have to make that for the midwife at your gp's and hopefully you will get to hear the heart beat xxx

Thanks for all your responses ladies.

I called and have an appointment in 2 weeks time.

So tired this afternoon, really struggling to concentrate on work, my eyes keep closing.

xxx

They told me nothing. No letter.

However, because i knew you're supposed to have a midwife appnt 16-18 weeks I made it myself with the midwife at our local gps. Its worth doing becauase we got to hear the baby's heartbeat & hear her kicking about (which was reasuuring as I couldnt, and still cant, feel any movement at 19+2).

Not what you're looking for?
