Cradle cap....
Hi hun.If your baby's hair is not too thick, you can use a little olive oil, allow it to sort of soak into the scalp for about 10-15 minutes then use a fine toothed comb to gently lift the scaly bits out. Make sure you wash baby's head thoroughly with warm water afterwards to get all the oil off the skin.
You could also try olive oil with a drop of tea tree oil in it: 1 tablespoon olive to 1 drop of tea tree oil, and apply in the same way.
Worked a treat on my son years ago.does take a little time and patience to clear up though.some ppl thought he was ginger lol but it was cradle cap xx
Dentinox do a cradle cap shampoo which I highly recommend. You only have to use a tiny amount and a bottle lasted us forever - I think you only have to use it once or twice a week and it totally cleared my sons head x
Dentinoxs cradle cap shampoo is a miracle cure, it does cost a few more pennies than normal shampoo but well worth it, my 2 boys suffered terrible with it and I tried all sorts until my mum turned up with this shampoo and it was like a god send.
Dentinox definitely clears up my little girls cradle cap, high recommend.
Thanks hun, am going to get some shortly xx
My daughter had cradle cap from birth. We used dentinox for 2 years (!) and it didn't make a difference. Just after Xmas it really flared up and she pulled it all off pulling her hair out with it! the doctor prescribed some strong steroids to get it under control then after a week we used olive oil each night and it really did the trick to get rid of it all. If we see any scaly bits on her head now we stick some olive oil on and it sorts it out!
Hi hun ive brought some dentinox shampoo so in going to give that ago soooo if that doesn't work ill be doing your suggestions thank you!! Xx
I used the Simple Baby Shampoo and found it worked a treat. Another alternative if your LO hasn't got a thick mass of hair is coconut oil - rub in, leave for as long as you want to massage the scalp and rinse out.
There's loads of stuff on the market that are "miracle cures for cradle cap" some work, some don't but I've found two things seem to be true - if it's perfumed it most likely wont work and if its coloured it most likely won't work. I have not idea why this seems to be the case but it does seem to be accurate.
The key to any of the stuff you try isn't what you try, its how its applied. Make sure you massage the scalp gently but firmly as this encourages good blood supply and gets the product into the scalp as well.
