I am only 5 weeks pregnant and since friday my temperature keeps spiking to 37.8c. if i drink lots it drops to about 37ish, i dont have any other symptoms, just hot and a bit worried, is it ok to take paracetamol? Could this just be caused by my crazy hormones?

Highish temperature, How hot is too hot during first trimester?
Paracetamol is considered safe in pregnancy as far as my knowledge goes. Cant really say how hot is too hot. But I did take couple of paracetamols at various occasions in my first and second trimester. Now in my third and wondering if I would need any more.
That would class as a low grade fever rather than a fever. Personally I would avoid paracetamol as it could mask a real fever, if this develops in to anything - keep up with the fluids if it works for you. How long has this been happening? Could be hormonal, but if doesn't settle it would be wise to check it out. Xx
You can take paracetamol - but Im not sure id bother with a 37.8 temp. Its a low grade temp only. Cold compress on your head / neck if your feeling hot helps I had a temp of 39 in my first trimester and was definately taking paracetamol then!!
Thanks for the advice ladies. I finally managed to see a doctor and sure enough i had a low grade uti, ive had uti and kidney infections in the past but this was completely symptomless. Im lucky it was caught early, so thanks again for the advice DrFluffy. Xxx
