15 weeks and still losing weight.

I know that people are all different, but at 15 weeks I am continuing to lose weight. I have lost over a stone and currently continuing a pound every two weeks. I would have expected at this time to have started to gain weight. Anyone else had this??

I didn't really start to gain anything until week 25, and lost weight initially. 1 stone does sound a little worrying though - ate you eating and more importantly drinking well? Are you passing urine as normal? It might be worth a trip to see your GP, just for peace of mind review and possible dietician referral if indicated xx

Not to be rude but did you have a stone to loose? Have you changed to dietary habits to eat more healthily now you are pregnant?

I haven't changed my eating habits just cut right back on my drinking. I am 15w 5days and gained 5lbs but I have been eating a lot of chocolate in the evening when I would normally have a glass of wine (or two).

im 24 weeks and havent put any weight on. initially i lost over 19lbs in weight due to hyperemesis. and im still in my size 8 clothes. only have a small bump but its noticeable. The baby gets its nutrients from your reserve so you shouldnt worry about the baby not feeding. but you do need to get it checked.

At the start of my pregnancy I couldn't eat anything and lost almost a stone which really worried me but the midwife reassured me not to worry, even though I was already very slim, I didn't really get my appetite back till about 20 weeks where I'd eat everything in sight and still wasn't putting anything back on but I'm now 33 weeks and in the past 2 weeks iv put on almost as much as I lost in the first trimester, so I wouldn't worry if u haven't gained loads of weight

Thanks ladies for your advice. I think I will raise up with my midwife next week. I really struggle with sickness so I guess that is not helping. I did have a little to lose, but not too 'cuddly'! As for the water, I have had a chronic thirst and upped my fluids to 3 litres a day, butwith all my blood tests (on a test every two weeks due to very low platelet counts) my veins keep collapsing, so they want me to up that even more! So I think I am filling up with water more than anything. ThNks again for your help!

'cuddly' made me laugh.

Yeah defo just ask her but I wouldn't worry to much.

I had pretty bad morning sickness ( all day and night ) from 7 - 16 weeks and lost a stone! Then had a bad flu bug so was sick another week where I couldn't keep anything down. I Was a size 14 / 16 at the start of pregnancy , I'm now 25 weeks and still in my normal jeans and still about half a stone lighter that what I started out at! This is my 2nd( a girl ), with my 1st ( a boy ) I started out a slim 12 and ended in 14 maternity , I put on a good 3 stone and 3 years later was still carrying extra weight and a size 14/16 generally ! Both are classed as norma! ! !

Definitely discuss it with your midwife/doctor even if it's just to put your mind at ease. I guess the sickness can't help. Have they ruled out gestational diabetes?
