peristeen Anal Plugs

I have Ben using these with great success but only have a few left and understand that these aren’t being made anymore

I contacted Peristeen in April and was told

I can say that we are committed to bringing back the Persiteen Anal Plug to the market, but the timing still remains uncertain. When the discontinuation decision was made, a team was established to explore different ways to do so. At the moment, we can't provide any guarantees on the outcome nor the timeline of this initiative.

However, today I was told

Unfortunately, we have not been given any new information regarding the Anal plugs. We are unable to guarantee if or when they may return at this point.

if anyone else uses these and finds them helpful please email them to show your interest in them as they may then decide to reintroduce them. I have not found a suitable substitute

I googled Peristeen and found this, I personally have no knowledge of the treatment but they also seem available on eBay.

Good Luck

Thank you. As you will see the one from Peristeen is discontinued. I have tried the ones from WellSpect but they just don’t work for me

Hi janfarrugia ,

There are a number of different products available depending on your needs. The NHS continence service will be able to offer help and advice about alternatives, you don't usually need a referral from your GP to make an appointment.

If you search for NHS Continence service, and give your local area, you should be able to find information on getting advice and support.

Additionally, if you normally get your medical supplies from Coloplast Charter, their advisors may be able to suggest the closest available product and send you samples to try.

Hope this helps

Sarah

Thank you, Sarah. I wasn't previously aware of the NHS continence service and, having searched, I find there is a clinic in the next town to me!
