I had anal cancer which was killed by radiation. But months later I started bleeding. I just had a PET/CT scan. The report said that I have radiation colitis. Or sometimes it is referred as radiation proctitis. I did some research and found this article:
"Recent advances in the management of radiation colitis"
It is pretty long and specialized, very medical. Do you think I should link it?

Hi Romian I have removed the link you shared as this was published back in 2008 and may not be a reliable source of up-to-date information. Radiation Colitis and Radiation Proctitis are both terms that are used to describe PRD.
I have added a link for the practical management of GI symptoms, which covers bleeding.
Thank you Sarah for sharing this. I haven't updated myself on self help for a long time. There is still very little 'out there' for long term PRD. I've now suffered 12 years and no improvement-in fact worse!
Thanks so much for this great source of information. Due for colonoscopy soon so really good to read that they should not biopsy radiated tissue etc. I feel a bit more prepared.
