Calling all writers

Does anyone on here write poetry? Or short stories, or even novels, or anything of the like? I would love to hear it! :) Beautiful words are my guilty pleasure and I feel that our friends on this website would probably have some great work!

We should do a weekly competition. Also this is a good way of learning French etc as well.

I have been writing a true crime book for 11 years, unfortunately due to the local public record office being closed for the last year have been unable to finish it! About two Irish serial murderers, it can be very graphic in it's descriptions of various events, I like to inject various examples of morbid or black humour into it! Due to the length of the novel, and that the murders happened nearly two hundred years ago, with the various legends built up in that time, I have decided to set up with the true story all events being backed up with historically and genealogically accurate facts, unfortunately I am in essence, fully retired and so will have to pay for the publication myself!🕵️‍♂️🤓👍

It's some years ago that I decided to write the story of my early life in Ireland of the 1930s, my arrival in the UK to join the RAF in 1949 where I found a home. With no home of my own I spent my leave periods moving abut the UK, till finally I found the true meaning of love for the very first time in my life. The place was a small mining village in Co. Durham where we were married 24th Sep 1955. With little or no education I managed to complete the book; Lonesome Stray in 2007. Since then I've discovered a vast amount of information from official documents relating to the family I was denied contact with. It was considered to be in my best interest to be raised as an orphan. It came as a surprise to receive good reviews from people in UK, Canada and USA.
