I love the selections Maria Popova pulls from her amazing familiarity with a huge scope of literature.
Yes they are very meaningful and complex and I think apply very much to now and the lack of understanding on such complex matters in times of crisis and how the human being responds to that. xx
For better or worse humans do not have a homogeneous response. Makes like interesting. Sometimes very fun, sometimes not so fun. We are certainly seeing that variety fairly clearly thanks to social media. I seem to be benefitting from the slower pace the world has been forced to adopt as covid19 moves through culture after culture. Very few individuals will remain completely unaffected.
