A VERY Lucky 'Find'

Dear ALL- I 'Always' seem to be Saying That,

Does anybody remember, that most Beautiful of Toys, the 'Slinky'? It was a, Very Finely 'Engineered' Spring made of Stainless Steel. It could 'Walk' downstairs, was Absolutely Lovely to Hold....and I have been after a Replacement for YEARS! Looking 'On Line', well yes, if you are a BL..DY Millionaire!

Today I was in a Garden Centre, with my Mother, she needed the Loo so I 'Dived' into....actually the Toy Area. My Mum asked/ told me to Stay Put and 'Enjoy' the toys. I, fairly quickly, lost Interest in the 'usual' array of Pre-Schooler Stuff. However walking round, to the other side of the Stand......A 'Slinky'?- Well, not quite a 'Springy' actually but close enough- could it be Metal? Yes it was! The metal is Copper coloured and it's NOT quite as large....but STILL. I can't believe that I have Found one, after all this time! How much did this 'Incredible' Toy, cost me? Well, now THAT, would be Telling...Which I WILL do £4.99- just amazing.....😀😀😀😀😀.

I just thought that I'd Share this, with you all. Does anyone else have any similar Stories? Very Best Wishes from, an Amazed

Morning ! Great to read your shopping trip went so well and you are now the proud owner of the infamous SLINKY .😁😁😁

I remember the SLINKY in my childhood days but can't say with hand on heart,that it was one of my favourites. Maybe they were aimed at the young boys? However I absolutely adored my miniature Post Office,equipped with stamps,envelopes,forms to pay pretend money in and best of all ............. the cashier's heavy stamp that would make a lovely "thud" each time I slammed it down on a transaction ! 📦📨📝💷 😆😆😆. Those were very happy times as a child.

Dear SquirrelsHolt,

We had a 'Till', along with Toy Groceries to buy and the 'Coins' to do so, I don't remember a Post Office though. Maybe Mousy Mousy, Monopoly, Go For Broke, Cluedo, Mousetrap, Pit, Operation, Under The Saucer (a great Card Game, for large Groups) to name but a few. We also had some Sprung Loaded Guns, that were Supposed to Fire Papier Mache Pellets- we used Hemp Seeds, which made the 'Dam Near' F..king Lethal!

Drawing, or chasing after, 'Follow Me' Lines, playing Marbles on drain covers, discovering 'Secret' places- like the old Warehouse, stripping out the wood to make Go-Carts. Cycling 'Miles' to try Smoking...the Biggest buying them, coughing our Lungs up- Not 'Big', Not 'Fun', Not 'Worth it' Stupid Game! I could go on, probably ALL night....So many Memories, I almost feel sad, for Times Past (Lost?).

Anyway I MUST away now, my Dad & Step Mother are coming tomorrow.

Always good to remember the best of times we had when we were younger. I look back and sometimes think, is that my lot of good times in my lifetime? Quickly answered by "of course not ... Life is what you make it. The note you put in,the more you'll get back"!!!
