DLA Appeal - Having to compile evidence.

Hi - this is a question for Kate Gilbert.

I just wondered if it is at all possible for PMRGCAuk to supply a letter to support those going through the process of applying for DLA/ESA similar to that offered by the LUPUSuk (Paul Howard). As I've been diagnosed last year @ 45 yrs with PMR/GCA and continued investigations in to other conditions such as lupus I can't real use these if not diagnosed as yet. As I understand it Paul provides a general letter that outlines the functional impairment endured by sufferes of the condition (that one submits along side own GP/consultant reports) and there are many responses on their blog site of how the reciept of these letters have really helped provide evidence of what sufferers go through, which CAB endorsed. I am sure such a letter would certainly be useful to many going through the process. Is this possible? ;-)

Thanx

Thanx Smoky, Very interesting - It certainly shows the stuggles it seems everyone must go through with this condition, just because it doesn't tick the relevant assessment boxes, emphasising the need to get as much evidence as possible to state your case.

I've also just seen the latest Panarama doc on ESA/DLA (iPlayer - Disabled or Fake it? Mon, 30th July), which also made for an interesting watch re assessments etc. - well worth a look.

Oh well at least it's prepared me for the road ahead and indicates I'm by no means alone.

Not what you're looking for?
