Hi lovely people. I’m up in middle of the night ( Australian time) due to my shoulder shaking. When I was in hospital ( 15 months ago ) with acute steroid myopathy following my diagnosis and treatment for GCA, I did have some very obvious tremors ( head nodding, hips rocking, whole body shaking ). This all stopped once I tapered down to 12 mg. ( from memory)
This current shoulder shaking is suddenly much more severe, than the occasional night time jerking I would get in the shoulder as I was side lying in bed. I will of course be lining up for my GP asap, but was wondering if any of you good folk have had this kind of tremor?
PS I’ve just had a flashback to overdoing it possibly with the cordless Hoover cobwebing, the day before last. Perhaps that could add to the fun? Was only mildly achy immediately afterwards but thought no more about it.
Thank you for any thoughts, lovely folk.

Not sure this will help, but…I suffer from essential tremor, which affects the hands & arms up to the elbow…I haven’t had shoulders shakes, specifically…but of course they move when the rest gets shaking! Anyway, the point is that it’s always much worse if I’ve done ‘stuff’, for example heavy housework, gardening, cleaning windows etc etc! Takes a few days to settle back to norm. In the night, my arm will shoot out if its own accord & bash the bedside cabinet, or my husband!! As I wake it often has the worst tremors.
That's really interesting to know that "stuff" makes it worse for a bit. Our poor husbands really do have to put up with a lot! Thankfully I was able to have a normal night's sleep last night, so I think the theory of the overwork effect, might be proved right!~Thanks for replying. Its such a fabulous forum which helps us feel less alone in this journey.
Good news if it is, for you, proved right! It definitely is for me. Sadly, it doesn’t stop me overdoing it right now, as I continue renovations on our cottage. We get help in, where we can. Glad you slept well last night! Take care, S x
