I am new to this forum but not to PMR having been diagnosed after a very scary 3 months in March 2022. Relief from pred was pretty instant and then I followed the normal pattern of coming down. I was free of all drugs for 5 months when I caught Covid in Australia and had a relapse. I had to go up to 20 mg to get symptoms back under control which was quite lowering. I really thought I had beaten it,
Now coming down again onto 7 mg and feel ever so dizzy but not really pain. Just wondering if the dizziness is a thing.
so many thanks for all the advice I’ve gotten through this forum. Truly life changing,

If the dizziness is recent then it maybe due to adrenals- they need to start working again at around the dose you are at now.
However, if you've had it all along could be due to the Pred.
Just a comment - if you were first diagnosed in 2022, doubt your PMR had actually gone when you finished Pred. 5 months later sounds quite usual for it to raise it's head above the parapet with or without Covid. So maybe just make sure this time around... so reduce more slowly.
Like DL, I'd suspect adrenals not keeping up with the reducing dose of pred.
And like DL - your PMR hadn't gone away but the Covid kicked it right royally into life again. You don't beat PMR - you come to an accommodation with it and walk together. Don't waste energy fighting!!!!
