I have now been on prednsone for 5 3/4 years and am 75 years old.
Down to 9 mg and slowly progressing and hope to have more success as my stress levels are way reduced now that my wife is in long term care since March of this year.
Lately my blood pressure has gone from the normal range to high and I am at a loss to figure out why. Is it the adrenal glands causing this? I do plenty of exercise - cardio and yoga and cycling.
Has anyone else had a similar experience and what can be done?
I will be seeing my rheumatologost on August 9 so will definitely ask her what could be causing this.
Thanks

According to most information low adrenal function usually has the opposite effect - ie - low blood pressure - but you certainly need to check out the reason.
There are a lot of reasons for raised BP and as DL says, if it is rising with lower pred doses I doubt it is the pred. Not long until you see the rheumy so ask them but of they claim it isn't their realm - don't hesitate to go to your primary care doctor.
