12 weeks PMR. Generally feeling good. Rapid response to Pred
follows g low taper advice gradually reducing to 10mg.
However, have had a general headache for a week now, moves around, not bad enough to need meds. 2 days ago woke early ( used to that!) turned over and it seemed / looked as if the whole room turned with me. Strange sensation. No dizziness. Slight recurrence this morning.
No jaw issues, scalp tenderness. Will try to get GP appt today, haven’t seen one since diagnosis by rheumatologist.

It could be a middle ear issue. I know that feeling well, of the lurching room when one turns one’s head. The cause can be unknown and unconcerning if distressing and there is medication to help. The GP needs to rule out more serious causes or try simple things first. If you are left high an dry and can’t see a GP you could ask a pharmacist if it is appropriate to try a motion sickness medication like Stugeron or Phenergan. I keep them on me all the time as I am prone to bouts of this. If you start to feel really ill with feeling sick and you can’t stand, call your GP again or 111.
as PMRpro says. I was mistakenly told it was Orthostatic hypotension causing my dizziness and vertigo but Dr later said BPPV and it’s exactly as you described. I was prescribed Prochlorperazine which seems to work and also for strange migraines I have. I struggled with the neck exercises due to arthritis in one side of my neck and the sudden ear-to-jaw stabbing pains that are sporadic but intense. Recently discovered severe dry eyes had caused damaged to the lens and affected my vision which may have been a contributing factor to dizziness as well.
Thank you so much for this. Will discuss with GP when I see him next week. Have an adjustable bed so slept semi upright last night which helped . Don’t really feel dizzy, just a little light headed. Waiting for blood test.
