All the original discomfort and pain of the first bout of PMR seems to have returned. In my hips and thighs, so very painful and I feel thoroughly exhausted.
I am still on 10mg of prednisone and now considering whether I should ask for increase again. I have enough to up dose at home and tempted to do so in anycase.
I have an appointment with physio on Friday, so will talk it though with him then.
I really do need to get something sorted.!!
and soon. 😩😪

Did you try the stretches I suggested in your previous post? Though if the muscle pain is the same as the PMR originally it definitely sounds like it is a flare underlying the sciatic pain - which can happen. Either you have overshot the dose you need at present or the autoimmune part underlying the PMR symptoms has ramped up - which it can do for various reasons. I think you need to get a GP to put their brain in gear and realise this is connected - because it very often can be.
Thank you, to be honest, I don't think the GP has a clue, I am hoping that the physio will be able to help and possibly offer some advice to take back to the GP, at least that might be a start.
Please can you tell me where I can find the stretches you mention PMRpro? My sciatica is playing me up as is my OA right hip. Pretty sure it isn't PMR flaring.
I think I will need to wait and see, it's great being able to contact like minded people with the same issues on this site tho and seems that the vast majority agree GP's know very little about PMR .
There are some who are better than some rheumies - more patience in tapering and more aware of QOL. A good GP is a gem to be treasured - and they do exist
I think you posted about sciatica before?? Recently? I’m sure I responded. Are you doing the stretches regularly? Did I mention the affect of the weather? On Sunday it was 80 degrees F here & my sciatica & busitis were more comfortable. Yesterday there was a 20 degree drop & the pain was off the scale. Um…just looked up your bio, but there’s no info. I’ve had sciatica for four years now…it doesn’t just disappear…I’d love to get something sorted, too! I have an excellent GP, & he says it’s hard to treat. Oh, & did you read the related posts on sciatica when you posted before? There’s a wealth of info on here if you read other posts…,
