Missed my dose . What should I have done

Hi everyone, I am on 2mg of prednisolone. Lat week, I forgot to take my dose. I felt fine and didn’t realise until the next morning. I took 4mg that day to be on the safe sides d then back to 2mg the next day. Two questions. Should I have taken 4mg and does this mean my adrenals are working? Thank you for any replies

I doubt it’ll matter and doubt it’ll do any harm. Shows you can get through one day without at least.

If you miss a dose there is no need to take double the next day. A number of us use a dosette box which has small compartments for daily medication over a week so that you can see if you have taken your daily dose.

If you realise the same day - take the dose then. If you get to the next day before realising, just take the usual daily dose. But what you did was fine and it doesn't matter either way really.

But a weekly dosette box, even if it is just for your pred dose, that you fill every week in peace and quiet, means you see easily if you have forgotten to take today's dose.

Some people would feel the fact they haven't taken the dose because the symptoms would make them notice. I don't think missing one dose and feeling OK says very much about whether the PMR has gone or whether your adrenal glands are waking up. But having felt OK is a lot more promising either way than NOT feeling OK.
