Returning to work full time

After being off work for 6 months with PMR, I returned on a part-time basis in Jan.

It’s been a mental and physical struggle to adapt to working. I’m only @ 65% of my pre-PMR self, however I’m able to perform to a satisfactory level.

One thing I didn’t do was change my pred dosage, I thought just change one thing at a time.

I’m now back full time, which is a major achievement compared to where I was last summer.

Long way to go before I’m fully recovered, but it’s nice to be able to share some positive news.

Good to hear - and let your tapering be led by how you feel - not the calendar…

Well done! Try to pace yourself.

Well done - but it really isn't plain sailing is it? As DL says - careful with the tapering now.

No PMRpro - plain sailing it’s definitely not. It’s really hard and there is a long way to go.

As I said to the GP, I’m in this for the long haul. It’s taken a long time to come to terms with the illness and trying to find ways to manage it is a constant battle.

As people keep reminding me take your time and you will get better!

Thanks for the support - it a tremendous comfort to have this group to help

Good to hear. I also am working again, and I am thus going to continue my taper VERY slowly. Working has been good for my mental health and bank account..was a rough 2 years not bringing in money due to the pain. So far I feel good at work. Keep us posted!

Congratulations to all of you who could return to work. I never could so being very close to retirement, it just came early. I'm off and it took a long time, so all of you be careful in your drops and keep an eye on stress.

Wish you all the best.
