hi everyone,

Another question for you very helpful people

Probably like everyone, we are all getting tips and advice from our friends to deal with PMR.

The last suggestion was vitamin C infusions.

Has anyone tried it - looking for any feedback.

Thanks in anticipation

Hi Meg,Don’t know if this will help but I have been on methotrexate for 20 months now. After taking them for 4 months my blood test gave cause for anemia. My GP ordered a B12 test which showed I was very low so I had a boost of 6 shots over 2 weeks and 1 shot every 12 weeks.I don’t know if you have been on MTX for long but just to make you aware as this wasn’t mentioned to me it does make your skin super sensitive to the sun.My first summer I was fine but this year after being on MTX longer I could burn in a matter of minutes.

thanks oxfordboy

I’ve been on methotrexate for about 6 months. I’m aware of the risk of sunburn and very fair so I’m careful in the sun, will be more aware as time continues.

Regarding the vitamin c infusions, this was just a friends suggestion.

I’ll run it by my rheumatologist next week

Thanks

Really not likely to help anything, it is a fad celebrity idea. Don't waste your money as I suspect they don't come cheap. You get vit C from a good diet and any excess is removed through the kidneys and pee-d down the drain. Putting it directly into the veins is just speeding up the process.

Very amused to see that Cedars-Sinai says the same "very expensive urine"
