I am quite suddenly feeling like I have a GCA relapse, really heavy head, sinus troubles, slight jaw pain etc. and I have been reducing pred from 3.5mg to 3mg and at the same time the last two days had a stomach bug, mostly sickness. Not that severe but now wondering if that could have taken the pred out of my system. I have just taken just 1 mg more but wonder if I should take more. Dont want to up my preds too much as always a struggle to get down. Any advice.

If you are taking plain uncoated tablets they should be in your system within an hour -so if you haven’t been sick within that timeframe you should get the benefit of them.
But if you aren’t sure, an extra mg for a day or so shouldn’t cause too much problem tapering wise…and are you sure it is a stomach bug and not adrenals struggling? It’s a classic symptom.
Hope you soon feel better -and make sure you keep well hydrated…
Once you've recovered from sickness, if it's a flare - follow this advice - doesn't impact of taper per se -

I agree - but you could treat it as a flare for a few days and see if you feel better.

me read your post again. I would not have taken the extra preds and carried on with the codeine.
