What’s it for! Osteoarthritis? Doesn’t really hurt that much ..done quite quickly . As for how long it lasts, that can vary.

Had two injections in my right shoulder, front and back, didn’t feel any pain with the injection at all.

I had a steroid injection in my shoulder. It was not particularly painful, but on the other hand it did not work either!

You are a right old softie! I haven’t had steroid injection in shoulder, but I’ve hand them in my hands, my thighs, my wrists etc…it’s fine…honestly!

not in the shoulder but several times in the knees. You feel a slight prick as the needle penetrates the skin, and mild discomfort as the needle enters. All over in a flash.

I was waiting for it to start and found it was all over. But suggest you ask him about physio for after. Jab is often just half the treatment.

I had a steroid injection some time ago for bursitis in my shoulder- it didn’t hurt and worked wonders! The pain never really returned to how it had been - lots of physio exercises helped I think. Good luck with it!

I had a few before I had shoulder surgery. They were a little painful but nothing like the shoulder pain was already. The ones done under us or X-ray guidance worked so much better than the GPS office.

I have had multiple injections in shoulder. The pain going in varies from doctor to doctor. Correct placement seems to determine how much mine helps. It is for Osteoarthritis and when it works it is glorious. The majority of mine have helped a great deal. Hope yours gives you relief.

I had a respected M.D. give me a steroid shot in one shoulder and it did not seem to help at all. Months later an orthopedic surgeon gave me one in the other shoulder and it worked wonderfully. Discussing this with a physical therapist, she observed that it's all in the placement of the needle and that I would be well advised to get any future steroid shots from an orthopedic surgeon.

Hi, i a cortisone shot in both shoulders 3 weeks ago, didn't hurt st all. It's a tiny pin prick. He put some pink stuff on the area first which stains so wash that off once you get home. The bursitis pain diminished within 2 hours and hasn't returned.

I have had both shoulders injected with steroids for bursitis. It didn’t hurt, it was injected into a pocket of fluid, in the joint, so I couldn’t feel it. It took a few hours to take effect but it has worked wonders. That was about 18 months ago and still no pain. Nothing to worry about honest 😊

I’ve had 3 over the years Ronzy and it wasn’t too bad at all and it can really help. I’ve also had them in my toes which was ouch! Best of luck
