I was diagnosed 6 years ago and prescribed 15mg of prednisolone. I was never 100% pain free, maybe 90%.

Am I damaging my body by tapering when only 90%pain free. Aslong as I am 90% pain free I am happy to do my slow taper.

Thoughts please

If you don't get any worse than you were on your starting dose I don't think there is a problem. How you were then is your guide, Some people just never are entirely free from pain.

I decided to keep on a dose which meant some pain (much more than 10%) - luckily it got better over 2 months. Rheumy said it was not doing any damage.

My thoughts are why should you accept less than 100% relief , because otherwise that means the inflammation is still slowly building up from the 'dripping tap'. If I under-dose I inevitably end up flaring, but we are all different
