minor flare ??

a bit of advice from all you lovely peeps.

Currently on 11mg pred (and 15 mg mtx) after tapering from 12 about a month ago.

I had a weekend away on the bank holiday, last week, and think I may have over done things a little.

Was a great weekend but did involve a lot of walking, eating and drinking, etc.

A few days after I’m feeling a bit fatigued, a slight stiffness in my neck mornings, and the very occasional minor tweak in the eye socket area (just an ache really, that lasts 2-3 seconds) a couple of times a day.

would it go on its on accord, or do you think I should temporarily increase my pred for a few days only?

The problem with a minor flare is that left untreated it can escalate - but are you sure it’s that and not just a reaction to more activity, different bed and overindulgence?

Maybe give it a couple of days to see if things settle -even trying paracetamol or the like…

If not then yes , an increase in Pred may be required.

we came back on the bank holiday Monday and I felt things coming on by about Thursday. I’ll do as you & PMRpro suggest and bide my time for a few days and see if there’s any Improvement, maybe try some painkillers too.

If things haven’t improved do you suggest I increase the pred - if so, how much and for how long??

Thanks

I'd wait a few days first - if it increases in any way it would suggest it is a flare. If it stays much the same or, with luck, improves, then it is probably having overdone it.
