Kevzara was FDA approved last month I believe to treat polymyalgia rheumatica after corticosteroids have been used and did not work well or when a slow decrease in the dose of corticosteroids cannot be tolerated. In UK other DMARDS such as Methotrexate would normally be used initially.

As piglette says, it has only been approved for a month or so in the USA and not at all in the UK , No-one on the forum has told us they were on it during the clinical trials.

It is an IL-6 inhibitor, much like tocilizumab, and I am on tocilizumab for PMR, It had allowed me to get from nearly 20mg this time last year to 8mg. I had been down to 6mg but that was too low and I had to clear out a flare.

Let us know how you get on with it. I am a long termer. Have been on Actemra for almost 4 years now. Would like to know there are other options to try if for some reason I have to stop Actemra which has worked very well for me.
