Got tex today asking i f when blood markers are up will thy come down on there own or do you always have to up pred,couldn't answer that because I've always had to up mine,but he says he'll wait, so just left it at that.I do remember someone else on this site asking same thing but forget what the answer was.

There are many things that can raise the blood markers - the ESR and CRP are not specific to PMR and GCA. A cold, chest infection, injury and even stress can cause them to rise. A single higher result without accompanying symptoms should never trigger a kneejerk increase in pred - the blood test should be repeated a week or two later to see if there is a rising trend which would suggest a flare.

As PMRpro says you need to know what has caused them...may well not be PMR...
